From Eric to Rose Luerra – Patient Sammy Luerra’s mother
Hello Rose,
Thank you so much for your message. I am so very happy to hear that Sammy is doing well.
Thank you also for explaining about how Sammy’s disease was effecting you and becoming yours. This is a common feeling but one that is not talked about very often. I actually feel this way about the patients I help as well because that’s the way I am. I take a personal involvement in them and it is very hard for me to hear when they say that they are just going to stop taking chemo or whatever it is that may or may or be keeping them alive. However, I have to respect that everybody has their own path to choose.
I was also disheartened when I heard form you that Sammy was going to stop chemo, and I mistakenly assumed the worse. Now that I hear that Sammy is doing well (even better than before), I realize that I am here to help patients fight the fight they choose, nit the one that I choose for them.
God Bless and tell Sammy I said “help”.

Hi Eric,
How are you,
I have a Facebook page and there's a few pic's of Sammy on there.
Sammy decided about 8 months ago to stop chemo treatment altogether.
Eric he's doing well his outlook on life and his mind keeps him strong.
Looking at him you would never know he has Non Hodgkins Lymphoma, and at one time stage 4.
He's my hero Eric and I am so proud of him.
This decision was so hard for me to except, because I started to take this cancer has my own and got so consumed. I began to lose my own life in this journey.
I hope you are doing well Eric, please let me know.
My facebook is Rose Luerra
Take Care Eric!
Sincerely,
Rose Luerra
